Marion M. Morita
Administrative / Bereavement Clerk
I joined Kauai Hospice in 2007. My responsibilities at that time were to assist and provide clerical support to the administrative and program staff including data entry, filing, answering phones and general office work. I also assist with referrals, hospice and community events, charting notes for the clinical department and assisting the bereavement department with continuous communication and support to our hospice families. The part I love most about my job is the education we provide to the community about our service and how we can provide quality of care for someone facing a life-limiting illness. Kauai Hospice’s bereavement program stays in touch with the families up to one year following the death of a loved one and reflect and identify their needs. We provide bereavement care workshops in a supportive atmosphere that are confidential and intimate and are “stepping stones” on the journey to healing. On a personal level, I am married to Roy M. Morita, who is also a hospice volunteer. Our lives came together with Hospice full circle by providing us with the tools, support and education to cope with a tragic event in our lives. My hobbies include cooking, Celtic music and watching and enjoying our grandson, Eddie as he provides us with the wonderful growing up phases of his life.
