sheehanI would like to express how deeply appreciative I am to Kaua’i Hospice. My husband, Eddie Sheehan, died suddenly on December 31, 2009. I was seeing a grief therapist and she phoned Kaua`i Hospice regarding their grief-counseling group. Because it was half way through the session, it was suggested I wait and start the session beginning in June. Caroline Miura, Kaua`i Hospice’s Bereavement Care Coordinator, offered to have me come visit with her immediately, which I did for three sessions and it just helped me so much. I will be forever grateful for the time we spent together during the most difficult part of my grieving process.

I told Caroline how concerned I was about my fourteen year old granddaughter, Brittney, and she suggested I sign her up for the 2010 Ke Anuenue Pili ‘ana Rainbow Connection for teens grieving the loss of a loved one. Brittney was extremely reluctant; however the sessions were so wonderful and therapeutic for her that she was really sad when they ended. They helped Brittney so much with her grieving process, which ultimately helped me and Brittney’s Mom knowing she was getting the support she needed from Kaua`i Hospice. Kaua`i Hospice is there for me and there for my entire family. I can’t thank them enough for how much they have helped us through this very difficult time.

Thank you so much Kaua`i Hospice staff as well as Queen Lili’uokalani Children’s Center.
